Sumit Jain is a highly skilled software engineer with over 5 years of experience in building cloud applications and data engineering. He holds a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from BITS Pilani (Goa campus). Sumit is proficient in a range of programming languages including Java, SQL, Python, and JavaScript. He also has expertise in various technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Spring, MongoDB, AWS, and Redis. Currently, Sumit works as an Associate Software Engineer at Goldman Sachs, where he is responsible for building ETLs on the company's internal Data Lake from various batch and real-time data sources. He also runs Spark jobs on an HDFS storage on a private cloud, writes and fine-tunes custom SQL queries, and builds scalable microservices with Java Spring and MongoDB. Prior to this, he worked on complex web UI problems using React, JS, SCSS, and D3.js at Goldman Sachs. Sumit has also worked at smallcase, where he implemented ideas for blazing-fast performance and worked on multiple products. He has extensive experience in building server-side rendered ReactJS projects using Next.js, Styled components, ExpressJS, and Webpack, with AWS products for infra.
