Sumit Kant is a highly skilled data scientist with over 5 years of experience in the field. Currently working as a Manager - Data Science at American Express, he is responsible for building machine learning models that help drive business decisions. Sumit is a graduate of IIM Lucknow with a PGDM in Marketing & Systems, and also holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Mandi. He has a strong foundation in science, having completed his Senior Secondary School education in Science from Govt. Sarvodaya Bal Vidhyalya. Sumit has a passion for advancing his knowledge in the areas of AI/ML/DL and psychology. He is an avid reader of non-fiction books and enjoys building Python-based products in his free time. His technical skills include expertise in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, Deep Learning, Python, and Azure. Prior to joining American Express, Sumit worked as a Management Trainee - Corporate Energy at Indus Towers Limited, where he gained valuable experience analyzing large datasets and engineering features for classification problems. He also worked as a Data Science Intern at Crisp Analytics, where he built a logit-based predictive model using Azure ML & R and estimated churn probabilities. Additionally, he proposed a CLV-based model to determine ideal target group size for strategizing retention action.
