Sumit Mandal is an AI Software Engineer with a passion for building machines that can see, listen, speak, recommend, and save lives. He has also built a PPE detection model, a speech recognition/wake word engine, and a facial recognition model that integrates with the PPE module. Additionally, Sumit has built a facial expression model. Prior to joining Proxgy, Sumit worked as a Computer Vision and AI Developer at Intozi, where he worked on ANPR and developed multiple models, including vehicle detection, number plate detection, and number plate character recognition. He also worked on tracking number plates and vehicles. Sumit also worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Testaing.com, where he worked on model explainability for object detection models, integrated LIME with OD models, personal information identification for image and text, and built an end-to-end recommender pipeline, text augmentation, and counterfactuals. Sumit holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from ITM and is proficient in AI, software engineering, computer vision, recommendation systems, web development, CNN, RNN, NLP, integration, ML, and object detection.
