Sumit Sethia is an aspiring entrepreneur and software engineer with a passion for building great products and large-scale systems. Currently, he is building a cloud-native data warehouse for enterprises at airwallex. With over 6.78 years of relevant experience, Sumit has worked in various capacities as an engineer in multiple companies such as Bytedance, Shopee, and Flipkart. At Bytedance, Sumit was a software engineer building cloud-native data warehouses for enterprises. He was part of the Core Database Engine team, where he worked on User Defined Function, enabling database users to write function code in Python and run it as a native database function in queries. Sumit also worked on making the database ANSI SQL compliant by adding new data types, new functions, etc. At Shopee, Sumit was part of the Ads Server and Algorithms team. He was responsible for Shopee's Home Page Ads and was also part of the Shop Ads project for the Search page. Sumit was involved in the architectural design of Machine Learning Platformization. Sumit holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from iiit. His tech stack includes Software Engineering, Data Warehouse, ML, SQL, Python, and Search.
