Sumit Sharma is a highly skilled R&D Engineer at Synopsys with over 7 years of professional experience in C/C++ in product-based organizations. He has a proven track record of developing various features for strategic RTL restructuring tools that are actively used by various semiconductor clients. Sumit has also developed new DFT (Design for Test) related solutions in the next-gen industry-leading synthesis product. Sumit has extensive experience in developing various Linux kernel drivers for android smartphones and STB (set-top-box) like STB transport processor (TANGO), sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, etc), I2C bus, power management ICs (Maxim max77665, Palma tps6591x) etc. He has successfully performed board bringup of various modules in new SoCs in challenging time frames. Previously, Sumit worked at stmicroelectronics as a Senior System Software Engineer, where he was responsible for the development and maintenance of Linux kernel drivers and firmware for transport subsystem in Consumer Product Division (CPD). He also developed and enhanced Fast Channel Change (FCC) solutions for DVB transport protocol. Sumit also worked at Samsung as an Engineer, where he was responsible for the development and maintenance of Linux kernel drivers for various sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetic sensor, etc on Android mobile phones as part of Sensor R&D group. He also performed sensors bringup on multiple chipsets like Qualcomm, ST Ericsson, Broadcom, Samsung, etc on multiple platforms. Sumit holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS). He has also completed his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya.
