Sumit Sourav is a Senior Software Developer at Awign, a company that converts outsourced work into real-time live projects and assigns them to students as virtual internships across all cities in India. He has been actively working on Ruby on Rails for the past 4 years and has over 10 years of relevant experience in the field of software engineering. Prior to his current role at Awign, Sumit was involved in carrying out the technical and business aspects of Barterstreets, an online platform for exchanging things/skills in a neighborhood, which pivoted to TheBookshelf. He was the Co-Founder & CTO of Barterstreets and was responsible for creating the entire back-end of the platform, brand development, web site traffic growth, website front-end, brand strategy, social media marketing, strategic consulting, including business plan & sales strategy development. Sumit holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Software Engineering from Krupajal Engineering College, where he studied from 2008 to 2012. He also has a background in Computer Science, having studied it at St Xavier's Hazaribagh from 1994 to 2005. Sumit's tech stack includes expertise in software engineering, Ruby, senior software engineering, frontend and backend web development. When he's not working, Sumit loves to watch Barcelona play football. With his vast experience in the field of software engineering, Sumit is a valuable asset to any team he works with.
