Sumohana Channappayya is a highly experienced Faculty Member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Hyderabad, with over 17 years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer. He is currently serving as a Professor at IIT Hyderabad, where he is responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of Electrical Engineering. Prior to joining IIT Hyderabad, Sumohana worked as a Senior Engineer at Qualcomm and Senior Member of Technical Staff II at PacketVideo. At Qualcomm, he was involved in developing algorithms for multimedia processing and communication systems, while at PacketVideo, he worked on developing video and audio codecs for mobile devices. Sumohana holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, and a BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Mysore.
