Sumonto Ghosh is a seasoned Security Software Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the field. He is currently working at Apple as a Principal Software Engineer, where he is responsible for designing and implementing secure systems to protect Apple's products and services. Sumonto has a strong background in Global Platform (GP) specification, design, and implementation for Qualcomm Secure Execution Environment (QSEE). He has also worked on FIME Compliance for QCOM GP Implementation and Global Platform Certification for TEE Protection Profile Certification for TZ and GP Implementation. Prior to joining Apple, Sumonto worked at Qualcomm as a Senior Staff Engineer/Manager, where he led a team of engineers in developing and implementing secure systems. He has extensive experience in implementing SHA2, HMAC algorithms, and designing secure file systems for Trust Zone. Sumonto has also worked on ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) for Secure Apps and Drive Power execution for a few Snapdragon Chipsets. He has been involved in a number of initiatives to improve design/code quality for TrustZone. Before joining Qualcomm, Sumonto worked at Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer - II. Here, he debugged various BSPs and MTBF issues and was responsible for improving boot time on Nokia devices by 5 seconds. He also developed multiple tools to help in BSP debugging and debugged an issue with “Manufacturing Test App not executing when part of the ROM image v/s run over KITL”. Sumonto holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in security, testing, and debugging.
