Sunil Sharma is a highly experienced professional with over 13 years of experience in designing and developing highly scalable, elastic, large-scale enterprise web applications using cloud and containerisation technologies. He is currently working as a Senior Engineering Manager at Acquia, where he is responsible for the overall architecture and design of solutions delivered by his team. He is also responsible for security, scaling, and performance tuning of the application. Sunil has extensive experience working with AWS Cloud, Docker, Swarm, Puppet, and CI/CD pipelines. He is a certified AWS Solution Architect - Associate and a Certified Scrum Master® (PSM1). He practices TDD and DDD approach and has expertise in a wide range of technologies such as PHP, Ruby, Go, Java, MySQL, Postgres, Mongo, Symfony, REST, Thrift, Protobuf, Swagger, PHPUnit, SonarQube, Memcache, Redis, Logging, Monitoring, and Application performance tuning. At Acquia, Sunil is supervising the work of his team and planning and executing strategies for completing projects on time. He is also researching and developing designs and products and ensuring products have the support of upper management. He provides clear and concise instructions to engineering teams and determines the need for training and talent development. Sunil has previously worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Acquia, where he was a Tech Lead and Scrum Master. He played a key role in building Acquia's new generation Email Solution and Cloud Modernization. He also managed the version control system that hosted thousands of customer repositories in Acquia's cloud infrastructure. He has also worked as a Sr. System Analyst at Cybage, where he transformed the legacy monolithic application into SOA architecture with Symfony and built a recurring billing platform for SaaS, PaaS services. Sunil completed his MCA from Nagpur University and his BCA from Nanded University. He also holds a degree in Computer Science from AES College.
