Sunny Agarwal is an experienced Engineering Leader with over 14 years of experience in designing, implementing and monitoring technically sophisticated web applications. With a passion for writing “stupidly simple” things that are intuitive, robust, scalable, and perform well, he has a proven track record of working with teams as well as being an individual contributor. Sunny is a strong advocate of service-oriented architecture, YBIYRI, and infrastructure as code. He has a particular expertise in writing SaaS applications and software for e-commerce and supply chain industries. He has designed and implemented complex warehouse management, inventory management, and end-to-end logistics platforms from scratch. Currently, Sunny is heading the technology team at Besseggen Infotech LLP. He is responsible for building a chat-based product discovery platform connecting manufacturers and wholesalers to retailers. With a lean team of engineers, he has built an in-house chat platform powered with e-commerce capabilities. He wears multiple hats, from architecting the backend systems to writing an Android application to running the sprints, to make the team/product succeed. Sunny has previously worked at Atlassian as a Senior Engineer, where he worked as a technical lead with the Jira ServiceDesk team to break down the Jira monolith into micro-services leveraging AWS platform to make teams more independent and follow YBIYRI. He has also worked at Arcesium as a Technical Lead, where he worked with the reconcilers team on the overall performance of the system, identified and resolved several performance bottlenecks, set up application monitoring, alerting, and throttling. Sunny has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology and a Master of Science degree in Computer Software Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He also has an intermediate degree in PCME from Vardhman Academy, Meerut. Sunny's technical expertise includes Android, Senior Software Engineer, AWS, Web, infra, Backend, Spring, Microservices, Java, CI/CD, MySQL, Search, Postgres, and Software Engineer. With over 12 years of relevant experience, Sunny is a responsible and committed engineer who can take on any challenge and deliver results.
