Sunny Gupta is an accomplished Engineering Leader at Atlassian with over a decade of experience in building and leading large teams of passionate engineers. He has a proven track record of enabling his teams to do the best work of their careers while ensuring the quality of software engineering craftsmanship. Sunny is a vocal product owner who stays connected with end customers, ensuring that his teams are not bogged down by requirements and shipping code mindlessly. He believes in having an opinionated set of processes in place, which has done wonders for the overall throughput of his teams and predictability of their response times. As an individual contributor, Sunny has built, broken, and rebuilt platforms from scratch and otherwise. He is known for his OO design/architectural skills and problem-solving/analytical abilities. He has worked on turnkey projects, including custom UI frameworks, cross-platform multi-factor apps, and an in-browser furniture customization engine using CSS 3D Transforms. Apart from his day-to-day corporate work, Sunny likes to build and nurture communities, speak at conferences, and participate in open source projects. He believes in enabling the next generation to rise beyond what we've accomplished. Sunny holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics from the Department of Technology, Savitribai Phule Pune University. He is proficient in a wide range of technologies, including Senior Software Engineering, Web, Javascript, UI, Frontend, Mobile, Typescript, ReactJS, Java, Research Scientist, Software Engineering, dotNET, ASP.NET, PHP, MySQL, Redux, and Ember.js. Currently, Sunny is working on an interesting phase of a product's journey - "migrations," at an unprecedented scale. He is happily learning and growing at Atlassian with an amazing team of passionate engineers and product + design folks. As an Engineering Manager, he is working across streams including KTLO, Cloud Transformation/Migrations, and Engineering Health, and is part of the Economy & Demand org, working on the eCommerce & Payments platform within.
