Suprateem Banerjee is a Machine Learning Engineer with a strong background in Computer Vision and Deep Learning. Currently pursuing his MS in Computer Science from Khoury College at Northeastern University, he is passionate about using deep learning to solve real-world business challenges and optimizing model inference times for time-critical systems. During the pandemic, Suprateem focused on self-learning and researching, taking several courses from Udacity and Coursera on topics ranging from Business Leadership to Deep Neural Networks. He is motivated by the desire to solve problems at a societal level and contribute to positive social change using technology. Suprateem has experience working as a Cybersecurity Automation Analyst at Schneider Electric, where he worked on optimizing cybersecurity workflows using machine learning techniques. He has also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Khoury College of Computer Sciences, where he conducted office hours, clarified doubts, guided learners, and graded assignments for CS5010: Programming Design Paradigms. In his previous role as a Machine Learning Engineer at NimbleBox.ai, Suprateem implemented two pilot projects using Python that automated real-world business workflows, saving constant monitoring labor. He developed a Mask R-CNN based instance segmentation model to segment out newly manufactured plastic bottles in a conveyor belt setup and used classic Computer Vision techniques to assess chromatic consistency with 99% accuracy. He also optimized prompt design and clustered generations based on lexical and semantic similarity for Transformer-based language models such as GPT-3, focused on conversational AI and the impact it would have on intelligent chatbots deployed over websites. Suprateem's education history includes a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from SRM University, a Nanodegree in Self Driving Car Engineering from Udacity, and his current pursuit of an MS in Computer Science from Northeastern University.
