Suraj Nath is a Senior Software Engineer at Grafana Labs, where he is currently working on Grafana Tempo. With over 4.6 years of relevant experience, Suraj has a proven track record of building core parts of products and infrastructures to support the ingestion, ad-hoc slicing, and dicing of high cardinality time series marketing data. Suraj started his career as a Software Engineer at Grafana Labs, where he built the Synthetic Monitoring product from the ground up (Worldping v2) and EOL'ed Worldping. He then moved on to Clarisights, where he worked as a Team Lead - Integrations, leading the Integrations team to build and scale data source integrations in the core platform. Suraj was responsible for ingesting millions of rows of marketing data from 35+ data sources, including advertising, analytics, and custom data sources like Facebook, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Adjust, etc. He also scaled the de-ref system to handle 20+ million joins/day from 2+ thousand joins/day and carried out optimizations to scale data ingestion layers to process 7+ million rows/hour from 80+ thousand rows/hour. Suraj's expertise in software engineering and infrastructure is evident from his educational background. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering from NIIT University, where he studied from 2014 to 2018. He also attended Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya from 2009 to 2011.
