Suraj Sheth is a Machine Learning leader with over thirteen years of experience in building and managing teams for developing groundbreaking business applications that have impacted the experience of billions of people. He is proficient in various technologies such as Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Recurrent Neural Networks, Convolutional Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing, Big Data ML, Big Data Analytics, GPU Computing, among others. Suraj is currently working as a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Amazon, leading and managing four teams on Machine Learning projects. He is actively involved in defining the Machine Learning charter for the organization and getting it executed. Suraj is the first and only Scientist Bar Raiser (BR) at Amazon in India and is grooming scientists on raising the bar of Machine Learning Science and its applications. Suraj has filed three patents, one of which has been classified as a trade secret, and the other two are in the process of being filed with USPTO. He has presented state-of-the-art work on Machine Learning in Ecommerce at AMLC 2022 and presented novel Deep Learning techniques at AMLC 2019. Suraj has also conducted a 3-hour tutorial on Machine learning in Advertising Machine Learning Workshop 2018 and is a Day-1 Science Mentor. In his past roles, Suraj worked as a Machine Learning Scientist at Amazon, where he developed a novel Machine Learning algorithm for Amazon.com Detail Page, which significantly reduced the latency of the Detail page. He has also worked as a Senior Data Scientist in the Data Science team of Adobe Target, where he invented novel Personalization, Attribution, and NLP algorithms using Spark, MLLib, MapReduce, StanfordNLP, Deep Learning, among others. Suraj holds a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, and completed his 12th and PUC from SRN Adarsh College, Bangalore. He is proficient in Python, Pyspark, Scala, R, Matlab, Weka, and Octave, among others. Suraj has relevant experience of 13.94 years and possesses excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
