Surya Veeragani is a fourth-year undergraduate student enrolled in the dual degree course of Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He is a Software Developer at Oracle, currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff. Surya is passionate about the fields of data science, machine learning, image processing, and software development. With 3.11 years of relevant experience, he has worked as a Software Intern at alog® and splineai. At splineai, he documented the installation of Intel Movidius Neural Compute Stick on Raspberry Pi and analyzed the run-time of various deep learning models like SqueezeNet, GoogleNet, and AlexNet, which are used for real-time object detection. He was also part of the team that worked on Vision Intelligence Analytics and the integration of Intel OpenVINO with the front end, which has its applications in face recognition, vehicle number plate detection, and person detection. Additionally, he trained Google Home as Dr. Assistant, which can automate the work of receptionists and assistants in hospitals using Dialogflow. Surya's education history includes a dual degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, where he will graduate in 2020. He also completed his Intermediate Public Examination from Sri Chaitanya Junior College and his Secondary School Certificate Examination from Sri Chaitanya Techno School, both in Andhra Pradesh. Surya's technical skills include software engineering, image processing, machine learning, data science, object detection, deep learning, integration, and frontend development. He is a dedicated and enthusiastic learner who is always looking for opportunities to enhance his skills and knowledge.
