Sushant Hiray is an expert AI researcher and data science leader with extensive experience in architecting AI solutions by incorporating the latest advances in academia. He is currently the Director of Machine Learning at RingCentral, where he focuses on building the next generation Conversational AI Platform. Sushant has a background in Computer Science and Engineering, with a minor degree in Electrical Engineering, and graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has been awarded various scholarships, including National Talent Search and Named Scholarships in IIT Bombay. Prior to his current role, Sushant was the co-founder and CTO at DeepAffects, which was acquired by RingCentral. Before that, he led the data engineering team at Lumiata. Sushant actively contributes to open source software and has been a Google Summer of Code Student as well as Mentor. At RingCentral, Sushant is responsible for building the next generation conversational AI platform. He focuses on platform scale, innovation at scale, and AI/ML at scale. His work involves solving unique and hard problems in making video conferencing tools smarter. Sushant's focus is on building the organizational culture and experimentation platform/tools that empower his teams to rapidly innovate at scale. He is working on various state-of-the-art AI/ML algorithms that will power the next generation of smarter video meeting experiences. He has relevant experience in ML, AI, Data Engineering, Data Scientist, Research Scientist, Search, and Senior Software Engineer.
