Sushant Sahu is a Senior Software Engineer at Shell with over 11 years of relevant experience. He is a passionate engineer who has been coding since he was 7 years old and hopes to continue doing so forever. His fundamental strengths lie in best coding practices, secure practices, design patterns, SOLID principles, and discipline that comes with being a senior engineer for over a decade. At his current role, Sushant is responsible for building highly scalable and performant microservices with Node.js and Python on Azure. He has expertise in building systems end-to-end such that infrastructure in the form of code (using Terraform) along with their application can be deployed quickly and easily using tools such as Circle CI, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions. Docker and Kubernetes are his reliable workhorses. Early in his career, Sushant built iOS and Android applications that were used by more than a million users. He has also built mobile applications in React Native. He has worked in large teams, sometimes having more than 70 developers at a time to maybe just 6. Agile development is his forte, but when budgets are tight, he still delivers on time. Apart from his coding, Sushant leads a team of developers and business analysts in his current role. He enjoys doing technical assessments for new and existing projects for senior management and stakeholders. Given a chance, he often comes up with architectural solutions for new features in their products that will be built, weighing out the pros and cons along with the expected budget and total cost of ownership. Sushant has worked with several companies in the past, including Danske Bank and Sears Holdings Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Technology from PES University and a PG Diploma in Wireless and Mobile Computing from CDAC.
