Sven Delmas is an experienced engineering innovator with a pragmatic approach to technical problem solving, as well as a passion for leading by example, empowering others, and creating an ethos of team collaboration and support of collaboration. He has been recognized for full life cycle development and management, delivering innovative, category-defining engineering solutions that improve processes and reduce costs. With insightful and focused leadership, he has strong people skills that produce high-performance teams. Currently, Sven is the VP of Engineering at Mezmo, a company that is moving from being an award-winning log management company to solving the overall data pipeline problem for its customers. At Mezmo, he helps shape the engineering team that builds and operates their products. The company holds the prestigious Great Place to Work badge with nearly 100% employee satisfaction. Prior to Mezmo, Sven was the Senior Vice President of Engineering at DataStax, where he took on leadership for all development teams comprising the DSE core product under one umbrella, providing improved and strategic cross-team coordination and focus on the commercial value of product offerings. He aligned engineering to the Cloud and delivered a publicly available preview of an alpha version in less than six months and a public beta version four months later. He also grew the initial team of around six engineers to nearly 200 distributed globally based on an increase in scope that included development, test engineering, documentation, CISO, and support. Sven has a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Technische Universität Berlin. He has relevant experience of over 28 years and his tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, test, Cassandra, and Web.
