Swanand Joshi is a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with a passion for Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing. Currently working at Facebook, he leads the Misinformation team, where he trains and develops models for Fake News Detection and Matching. Swanand has also worked on Hate Speech Detection, where he has successfully trained and deployed models to reduce Instagram Cyberbullying. Prior to his current role, Swanand worked at Amazon as an Applied Scientist, where he conducted research on Sentiment Analysis and Recurrent Neural Networks, Conversational AI, and Deep Reinforcement Learning. He also developed NLU statistical modeling and expanded Alexa features, including the MovieBot Alexa Skill Expansion. During his time as an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon, Swanand worked with the Conversational AI team in Boston, specifically on Sentiment Analysis. He also developed features for the Alexa Skill named MovieBot. Swanand's education includes a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Technology from Pune Institute of Computer Technology.
