Swapnil Agrawal is a Principal Engineer at Western Digital with over 10 years of experience in the field of electronics and communication engineering. He specializes in internal algorithm validation of NVMe SSDs and has good knowledge of FTL, Flash Manager, and NVMe. Swapnil is always eager to learn more and improve himself, and he believes in delivering results on time and with quality. He is a dynamic team leader who acts as an enabler for the team to reach their full potential. Currently, Swapnil is working as an Intern at RMIT University, where he took a detailed literature review on piezoelectric thin films, particularly the deposition and characterization of lead-free piezoelectrics. He concluded the best piezoelectrics that can be used and how their piezoelectric properties can be enhanced further. He also received specialized training on photolithography in cleanroom facilities, reactive ion etching of piezoelectric thin films on silicon substrates, and surface profilometry. In the past, Swapnil has worked as an Intern at the University of Alberta, where he gained deep insight into Analog Electronics and gained practical experience in circuit design. He was also involved in designing an output stage circuit to provide maximum input power to the ultrasound transducer for the Sona Platform, a device used for speeding the process of bio-fermentation. Swapnil has also worked as a Member Technical Staff at NetApp, where he was involved in automation efforts of test cases and scripts, development of test framework in Perl, and integration of test cases for testing new features. He also developed a new test suite from scratch for systemic testing for a new feature and was involved in resiliency testing for the upcoming release in legacy platforms. He secured the Bug of The Month Award in November 2013 for finding a severe bug in the software. Swapnil has a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He is a dedicated professional who is always looking to enhance his skills and knowledge to deliver the best results.
