Swapnil Kumbhar is a highly skilled Software Engineer and Research Scientist with a passion for improving security and vulnerability detection in software systems. He is currently seeking full-time SWE opportunities and is currently working as a Graduate Research Assistant at SEFCOM while completing his Master of Science in Computer Science at Arizona State University. Swapnil has gained extensive experience in the software industry, having worked for over three years in various roles. His most recent experience includes working as a Software Engineer Intern at zscaler, where he improved the security of Windows credentials by developing a mechanism in C++ to protect these credentials and enhanced defenses against memory dumping by hooking relevant Windows APIs using MS Detours. Prior to this, Swapnil worked as a Senior Security Researcher at zscaler, where he increased the attack detection rate on Windows endpoints by developing detection rules on ETW using C# and improved the release and deployment process of “Faultline” using Docker, Azure CR, and Gitlab CI. He also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Arizona State University, where he improved vulnerability detection by analyzing code coverage of software in various configurations using fuzzing. Swapnil's educational background includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Dwarkadas J Sanghvi College of Engineering and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Arizona State University. He has also gained expertise in various technologies such as Docker and Azure.
