Swapnil Markhedkar is an accomplished Computer Science graduate from Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in Software Engineering in Scalable Systems. With over 2 years of experience in building scalable backend systems, Swapnil has honed his skills in C++, Data Structures, and Problem Solving. Swapnil is a winner of the Smart India Hackathon 2019 under the Ministry of Water Resources of India. Currently working as a Software Engineer at Avaya, Swapnil has designed and implemented an eventing framework to deliver telephony events over REST Hooks with low-latency. He has also enhanced security across RHEL and Apache Tomcat by fulfilling 80% of Joint Interoperability Test Command STIGs to meet US Department of Defence requirements. Swapnil has improved the Geo-Redundancy High Availability (GRHA) module by 38% and extended licensing functionality to GRHA while tackling hidden inconsistency issues. He has migrated several services to log4j 2.17.x without compromising functionalities. Swapnil has previously worked as an Intern at Nice and as an SDE Intern at Goqles. At Nice, he built a scalable system that ensured fault-tolerance and load balancing across web socket layers over AWS EC2 instances using Apache Kafka and Spring Boot. At Goqles, Swapnil worked with Node.js and angular.js to address several bugs and resolve performance bottlenecks. He added the Leads section to facilitate handling of prospective students. Swapnil's educational background includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Pune Institute of Computer Technology. He is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Software Engineering in Scalable Systems from Carnegie Mellon University.
