Swaroop Yermalkar is a highly accomplished Head of Cyber Security with over 10 years of experience in the industry. He is currently working at ThriveDX (formerly HackerU) as the Head of Cyber Security (India), where he is responsible for the technical delivery of the program 'Master Certificate In Cyber Security (Red Team)'. Swaroop is also responsible for training on cybersecurity topics such as Exploit Development, Advanced Web / Infra Pentesting, DevOps Security, Mobile App Pentest, and Threat intelligence. Swaroop is an expert in his field and has authored a book titled “Learning iOS Pentesting”. He also leads an open-source project - OWASP iGoat, which is developed for mobile security. Swaroop has been recognized as one of the top bug bounty researchers worldwide, working with Cobalt, Synack. He has given talks and workshops at many security conferences including AppSec USA, AppSec Israel, DEFCON (AppSec Village), BruCON, SEC-T, EuropeanSec, Hacks in Taiwan (HITCON), GroundZero, c0c0n, 0x90, GNUnify. Prior to working at ThriveDX, Swaroop has worked at Traveloka as the Lead Security Engineer (Product Security Team) and at Lithium Technologies as a Senior Security Engineer. At Traveloka, he led and mentored a team of 8 security engineers and automated security checks, integrated security into the CI/CD pipeline, and worked with developers to address security issues. At Lithium Technologies, he worked on end-to-end Application Security, Infra Security, and AWS Security. Swaroop has completed his education from MIT College of Engineering and has expertise in Mobile, AWS, iOS, Web, Infra, DevOps, CI/CD, and Android technologies. He is a CREST CRT certified professional and holds the Offensive Security Certified Expert (OSCE) certification. Swaroop is a highly motivated individual who thrives on challenges and is constantly pushing himself to achieve more.
