Sydney Lewis is a seasoned Head of Data Science with over 15 years of relevant experience. She is currently leading the Data Science team at waycool, where she has assembled and led a team of data scientists to develop bleeding-edge algorithms. Sydney has demonstrated her abilities in bringing disparate teams and people together to achieve breakthrough innovation. She is a hands-on data scientist with a creative and empathetic mindset. At waycool, Sydney has been involved in various projects such as volume forecasting of fresh fruits and vegetables to reduce wastage and cost, time series forecasting applied in various areas such as price forecasting and yield forecasting, brand analytics to detect affinity and basket suggestions, route optimization for vehicles and salesmen beat planning, and developing models for commodity trading and fraud analytics. She has also worked on proof of concepts to illustrate possibilities to business teams. Prior to her current role, Sydney worked at curiosearch as Data Science and Products, where she created deep learning models in the field of computer vision. She was tasked with creating prediction models in the field of apparel/fashion. Sydney designed models to develop tags for apparel, oversaw the development of a framework for searching near-alike images within a catalogue, and worked across the lifecycle of the product development. Sydney is a graduate of Liverpool John Moores University, where she earned a Master's degree in Data Science. She also holds a HarvardX's Data Science Professional Certificate from Harvard University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Maintenance from Bangalore University.
