Syed N. is a seasoned IT services professional with over 25 years of experience in the field of Mission-Critical high-end Unix server environments. With national and international exposure, he has worked in the services/support/sustaining organizations of some of the top IT majors such as IBM, Oracle Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, and Compaq. His primary expertise areas have been Hadoop/BigData, Cloud Storage, Clustering/High-Availability, Storage, and NAS appliances. Syed has worked on all levels of the support chain, right from being a system administrator to a sustaining engineer fixing product bugs. He specializes in Hadoop, Mobstor(CloudStore), Solaris OS, Sun Cluster, HP-UX, Tru64, TruCluster, Serviceguard, Veritas Cluster Server, and ZFS Storage Appliance. Currently, he is working as a Senior Engineering Manager - SRE at nVIDIA. Syed's relevant experience spans over 27.63 years, during which he has developed a broad range of skills and expertise. He has a Master's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Osmania University. He has also completed an Executive General Management Program (EGMP) from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. In his previous roles, Syed has worked as a Senior Engineering Manager - Grid PE at Yahoo, where he led the production engineering (PE) team at Bangalore, responsible for handling the entire Hadoop infrastructure/ecosystem.
