Tarun Bedi is a highly motivated and skilled software engineer with a passion for building high throughput, intelligent systems and infrastructure that can scale to billions of users. Currently working as a Software Engineer at Yugabyte, he is responsible for building and maintaining the backend systems of the Yugabyte Managed team. Prior to this, he worked with the Exadata DBaaS team at Oracle Cloud, where he built cloud-scale database platforms, APIs and backend workflows as a part of the DBaaS Control Plane team. He also developed the Exadata Cloud@Customer service, extending Oracle’s cloud database to private datacenters. Tarun has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he focused on systems and machine learning. He also spent an amazing year with the Storefront team at Myntra, India’s largest fashion e-commerce platform, building large scale backend systems and microservices. During his internship at Juniper Networks, Tarun built persistent distributed storage services for a Kubernetes PaaS product as a part of the Cloud Platform team. He developed bucketed storage support from scratch (Golang), enhanced the service's observability by pushing and serving key time-series metrics to a monitoring dashboard, and received a return offer from Juniper on account of exceptional performance during the internship. Tarun's technical skills include software engineering, backend development, machine learning, microservices, Java, Kubernetes, and Golang. He has a total of 3.52 years of relevant experience and is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow.
