Tathagato Bose is an experienced EDA Software Engineer at IBM with a passion for innovation and invention. With over 7 years of hands-on coding experience, Tathagato has been responsible for the development and improvement of front-end simulation test-bench library (C++) for Functional Verification of P/Z/ASICS (Odyssey) chips. He has also been involved in reducing memory footprint and supporting verification engineers to increase functional coverage of DUT. Tathagato has also gained exposure to DevOps CI/CD and enabled the testcase regression suite using Jenkins pipeline plugin and Python NumPy. He has filed 9 USPTO patents on domains like hardware memory characterization, Augmented Reality, Watson Health solutions, etc. and has mentored other inventors and participated in disclosure evaluation. Tathagato has published a paper on Quantum computing in collaboration with IBM Q team on VLSID'2019 and also in other conferences/journals. Currently, he is working as a Senior Staff R&D EDA Engineer at IBM and is acting as an R&D team lead for Simulation control library interfacing IBM’s Mainframe Processor simulator (cycle-based). The tool is mostly written on C++ STL working over several testbenches depending on the design under verification, with an additional interface offering on Perl. Currently, Tathagato is overseeing around 300+ verification engineers who are actively using their tool. Additionally, he has introduced a few Python modules for regression data analysis and visitation. Tathagato holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology. His technical expertise includes Software Engineering, Python, CI/CD, test, Jenkins, DevOps, and Frontend. With 7.36 years of relevant experience, Tathagato is a competent and dedicated professional who is always striving to improve his skills and contribute to the field of technology.
