Tejpal Kumawat is an Operations and Logistics Manager at Abhyuday IIT Bombay, with a passion for Artificial Intelligence. He is currently pursuing a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and is in his fourth year of study. Tejpal has completed various projects on supervised and unsupervised algorithms, with a particular interest in Deep Learning, NLP, Computer Vision, and GANs. He has a strong understanding of mathematics, statistics, Python, and TensorFlow. Tejpal has worked as an Institute Student Mentor at the student mentorship program, where he was selected among 380+ applicants through a rigorous procedure comprising of SOP, peer reviews, and interviews. He was entrusted with the responsibility to guide and ensure smooth transition of a group of incoming freshmen. Tejpal was responsible for mentoring the students academically and vocationally, and providing motivational counsel. Prior to this, Tejpal worked as a Department Academic Mentor at the student mentorship program, IIT Bombay. Here, he was selected among 32 mentors out of 80 applicants based on versatility, academic ethics, and positive peer review. Tejpal mentored 4 students for a smooth transition to department curriculum, motivating their academic endeavors, and providing counsel to ensure their holistic growth while helping to overcome personal and professional challenges. Tejpal has also worked as an AI Engineering and Research intern at Qure.ai, where he received a Letter of Recommendation for exemplary work done in Software Development and AI Research. He processed DICOM format medical images with Pydicom, visualized and analyzed MRI images with Weasis, and collaborated on the backend (Django) with the Engineering team of 10 members in developing DCMIO software. Tejpal implemented UNET with different encoders like RESNET50, VGG16 for the semantic segmentation task, and achieved the highest Dice score of 0.954 by using RESNET encoder i.e. UNET++ on retina images. Tejpal's tech stack includes AI, Research Scientist, Computer Vision, ResNet, Deep Learning, NLP, Python, TensorFlow, Django, Backend, Software Engineer, and Pytorch. With 0.27 years of relevant experience, Tejpal is a highly motivated and skilled individual with a passion for AI and a strong background in mathematics and statistics.
