Terry Zheng is a highly skilled and motivated software engineer with a passion for machine learning, infrastructure, and software engineering. Currently working as a Software Engineer at Bloomberg LP, Terry has experience in designing multi-tiered caching systems, creating cache analytics engines, and developing cache event message subscribers/broadcasters to view and analyze real-time updates. He has also added Grafana metrics and enhanced cache updater services to deduplicate similar messages, resulting in significant improvements in cache hit rate and lookup speed. Before joining Bloomberg LP, Terry worked as an Infrastructure Engineer at Wish, where he revamped the decider key infrastructure and introduced Thompson sampling to improve A/B testing and reduce experimentation time. He also added batch evaluation and data aggregation to core platforms, enabling mobile experiments. At Cisco, Terry worked as a Software Engineer, building a multi-featured, low latency object storage microservice using Django, Nginx, and Docker. He implemented over 50 core infrastructure device APIs such as config snapshot and traffic parser and devised an open-source testbed package for the pyATS framework, producing 6 schema loaders. Terry is a 4th-year computer science student at the University of Waterloo with an AI specialization and a combinatorics and optimization minor. He has relevant experience of 4.77 years and is passionate about learning and trying out new things.
