Thiru Kandasamy is an accomplished engineering leader with over 20 years of experience in building enterprise-scale applications and leading high-quality engineering teams. He is currently serving as the Executive Director of Engineering at athenahealth, where he is responsible for building and scaling enterprise/SaaS applications, instituting effective engineering and ALM practices, and supporting large enterprise customers. Thiru is a human-centered leader who values organization and people growth. He understands and appreciates the dynamics of building high-performing and highly scalable enterprise SaaS/cloud-based applications, highly collaborative and distributed software development environments, and highly aligned, focused, and ever-challenged engineering teams and the environments that empower them. Thiru's expertise includes program and release management, global and offshore management, performance engineering capabilities, and leading and growing an effective engineering organization. He is skilled in Java, J2EE, SVN, Git/Gerrit, Apache, JBoss, MySQL, and Postgres. Thiru has a Master of Computer Applications degree from Manonmaiam Sundaranar University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Maths from PMT College Melaneelithanallur. He has previously worked as the Director of Technology at athenahealth and as the Director of Engineering (TeamForge) at CollabNet, where he managed global engineering for the company's flagship product. Thiru's relevant experience spans 24.55 years and includes building and scaling enterprise/SaaS applications, instituting effective engineering and ALM practices, and supporting large enterprise customers.
