Thyagarajan Venkatanarayanan is a highly skilled software engineer with expertise in heterogeneous computing. He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, San Diego. Currently, he works as a Staff Software Engineer at Qualcomm, where he is responsible for developing high-performance Hexagon DSP off-loading software stack on Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets for next-generation applications. His work has been instrumental in the development of commercial applications such as Face Authentication, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, 3D Camera processing, 4K video post-processing, which are extensively used by 3rd party developers from major OEMS, such as Google, Samsung, Oculus, LG, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo. Thyagarajan has previously worked as an Algorithm Engineering Intern at Dexcom, where he developed a noise estimation algorithm to enable LMS adaptive filtering and minimize existing time-lag in the system by 9 minutes. He also developed a 1st order RLS based autoregressive prediction algorithm for hypoglycemia alerts (in Dexcom’s G5 continuous glucose monitoring system) and achieved ISO standard accuracy with a Mean Average Relative Difference (MARD) of under 10%. Prior to that, he was an Embedded System Software Intern at NVIDIA, where he was part of the automotive infotainment team. He modified Linux SPI device drivers and wrote test modules (in C) for testing of communication with on-chip QSPI flash device & test automation scripts (in Bash), for FPGA bringup of Tegra Erista SoC. Thyagarajan's technical expertise includes Software Engineering, Senior Software Engineering, test, and SDET. He has a total of 5.79 years of relevant experience in the field.
