Tobias Bieniek is a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer currently working at simplabs GmbH. With over 10 years of relevant experience in the field, he has developed, coordinated, and shipped large-scale features for clients like trainline and Qonto. Tobias is an expert in software engineering best practices, JavaScript, and Ember.js, and has mentored and trained junior developers in these areas. Tobias has also maintained multiple high-traffic open source projects in the Ember.js ecosystem, including qunit-dom, ember-test-helpers, and ember-error-route. Prior to joining simplabs GmbH, Tobias worked at q.beyond ag as a Software Engineer, where he designed and implemented web clients (Ember.js, Backbone) and Android apps talking to a JSON API backend. He also introduced static analysis tools, unit and acceptance tests for the backend services that caught dozens of bugs, and implemented a CI process based on Jenkins to let these tests run on every commit. Tobias gave workshops on how to use Git for beginners and developers coming from CVS/SVN. Tobias began his career as a Master Thesis Student at air avionics, where he developed a multi-functional flight display for ultralight aircraft. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mechatronics from Aachen University of Applied Sciences - FH Aachen and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Mechatronics from Hochschule Bochum - Bochum University of Applied Sciences.
