Tomer Shiran is the Founder and CPO of Dremio, a data lake engine company that enables lightning-fast queries directly on data lake storage and provides a semantic layer that makes the data consumable, consistent, and secure. He is a seasoned product manager and senior software engineer with over 17 years of relevant experience in the industry. Prior to founding Dremio, Tomer served as the Founder and CEO of the same company, where he raised over $100M from Lightspeed, Redpoint, Norwest, and Insight. He was responsible for building a product strategy, roadmap, and new feature development. He also managed the product team and oversaw the rapid growth of the company from 0 to 700+ customers and 5 to 300+ employees. Tomer's past experiences also include serving as the VP of Product Management at MapR Technologies, where he was responsible for product strategy, roadmap, and new feature development. He built and managed the product team and was an executive team member. He also served as a PMC Member for Apache. Tomer holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, where he also completed his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Technion-Machon Technologi Le' Israel. As a product manager and senior software engineer, Tomer has a strong tech stack that includes product management and software engineering skills.
