Trevor Clark is a highly skilled Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer with over 11 years of relevant experience. He has a passion for robotics, automation, and machine learning. Trevor has worked with some of the most advanced technologies, including the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, the Da Vinci Surgical Robot, eBeam Interactive Surfaces, and the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. He has both led teams and focused on individual technical contributions. Trevor is currently working as a Senior Software Developer at Intuitive Surgical, where he is responsible for designing and implementing software for equipment that improves product quality, safety, and productivity. His expertise in computer vision and automation of test and assembly equipment has helped Intuitive Surgical achieve its goals. Trevor has also worked as a Software & Automation Manager at Intuitive Surgical, where he managed competing priorities, balancing daily production needs with long-term improvements to the company's processes and code-base. He protected his team members from distractions and empowered them with the trust and tools required to focus on tasks they excelled at. Trevor also drove architectural improvements to the code-base, reducing code duplication and dependencies on less stable tools. He implemented process improvements such as moving from SVN to Git, increasing rigor of code review process, and worked towards continuous integration. He improved test coverage and facilitated knowledge transfer by standardizing the approach to documenting complex systems, training new team members, and keeping existing team members up-to-date with relevant changes to the tools and code-base. Before joining Intuitive Surgical, Trevor worked as a Design Engineer at Luidia, where he took ownership of multiple products, gaining exposure to almost every part of the development cycle. He designed user experiences through user testing, early concept development, and rapid prototyping. He developed product roadmaps and designed plastic components, PCB layout and circuit design, firmware, and software. He also designed Kalman filter for noise and latency reduction, sourced components, tracked BOMs, and managed vendor relationships. Trevor has a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from the University of California, Davis. He has also completed the Summer Institute for Entrepreneurship program at Stanford University.
