Previously, Trushar worked at BBC World Service as the Editorial Lead for the BBC 'Beyond Fake News' initiative in India, where he commissioned a season of digital content in 7 languages, organized six conferences in six cities across India, developed a curriculum and training material for schools and colleges on how to spot fake news, and more. He also worked as the Digital Launch Editor for BBC Indian Languages, where he headed up social media and digital strategy, training, digital production processes, and journalism projects for the BBC's expanded Delhi bureau. Trushar holds a Master's degree in Contemporary British Politics from Goldsmiths College, U. of London, and has completed a Visiting Fellowship in Journalism from Harvard University and a Journalism Fellowship in Messaging Apps in the news industry from the Tow Center.
