Tulika Saxena is a Senior Software Engineer at Directi, with over 6 years of relevant experience. She is an algorithms/machine learning/distributed programming enthusiast and a zealous believer of the supremacy of the Unix command-line. She is mostly an all-around curious cat, always eager to learn new things. At Directi, Tulika has designed and implemented a low-latency Live Data Immediate Learner, which reacts to changes quickly, increasing the overall RPM. She has also implemented library support for redis-cluster access, allowing replica reads and scaling reads in service much more easily than standalone Redis. Additionally, she led the ML model migration from CPU to GPUs, evaluating the training times and key metrics on efficacies of various ML models on CPU vs GPU, leading to model improvement while avoiding unnecessary expenses on GPUs. Prior to Directi, Tulika worked at wmall, where she designed and implemented a multi-tenant OTP based auth service, a coupon service that supports general coupons and user-specific scratch coupons, and a user-personalization engine. She also worked on an internal system to manage seller-side inventory, implemented a data pipeline to push catalogue updates to Elasticsearch server, and developed the internal content-management system to handle the widgets displayed on the app and web. Tulika also worked at Uber, where she worked with the Settlements Platform within the Uber financial system. She implemented chargebacks processing for various payment methods, designed and implemented chargeback and disputes processing for PayPal and AmEx within the uChargebacks platform, and did performance benchmarking for bulk payment reconciliation processing. Tulika holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from iiit and completed her high school education from City Montessori School and St. Agnes Loreto Day School.
