Tushaar Gangavarapu is an Applied Scientist at Amazon, specializing in Machine Learning Research Engineering. He currently works with the AQuA — Automated Quality Assistance team of Kindle Content Experience and Quality Algorithms org. in India. Tushaar completed his undergraduate studies in Information Technology at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, India. During his studies, he focused on cognitive psychology and learning sciences, working with the Human Centered Computing Group (HCCG) to gauge human behavioral patterns and model personality traits. He also worked with the Healthcare Analytics and Language Engineering (HALE) Lab, where he developed deep neural architectures for intelligent healthcare applications. Tushaar has completed two internships during his undergraduate studies. One was with Cultyvate at PES University, where he developed effective neural architectures to improve crop yield based on weather conditions. The other was with the Kindle Create team at Amazon.com, Inc., where he modeled deep language processing models for customer assistance and worked on providing accessibility to the blind. Tushaar has given expert talks and guest lectures on several topics, including the vitality of social media analytics for predictive applications, assessment of game-based outcomes, and greediness and selfishness of genetic selectors. With almost four years of relevant experience, Tushaar's tech stack includes Research Scientist and ML.
