Udit Kumar is a Senior Engineering Manager at Intel with over a decade of experience in embedded system product development. He is an expert in firmware, Linux device driver, Linux kernel programming, and embedded application software development. Udit has worked on different products such as STB, DVD, SDH, IoT, and Automotive, across all stages of the product life cycle. He has developed different drivers such as demux, audio, low power driver, I2C, UART, GPIO, SPI, RS232, clock recovery, DMA, clock tree, event, etc., based on RTOS (Linux, OS20, OS21). Udit has developed a complete ecosystem for power management in STB and has a patent on low power in devices granted. He is familiar with HW and HW debugging tools such as CRO, logic analyzer, and board bring-up. He has also worked on multimedia audio driver developments such as MLP, AC3, MPEG, PCM, ALSA, and bare metal driver. Apart from his technical expertise, Udit has experience in people management and delivery management. He is certified in CSM and Price2. Currently, Udit is working at Intel as an Engineering Manager in Boot and Security, Deep Learning, and AI. Before joining Intel, Udit worked at NXP Semiconductors as a Principal Software Engineer/Architect. He was responsible for delivering BSP for new platforms and platform bring-up, PCIe, ARM CPUs, interconnect, and caches. He was also part of the EBBR (Embedded base boot requirement) forum led by ARM. Udit engaged in open-source projects such as UEFI and Uboot, mainly to enable ACPI in device drivers. Udit has also worked at STMicroelectronics as a Senior Technical Manager. He was responsible for satellite gateway, software PM, support, and maintenance of transport engine driver on ST STB SOCs, and development of support of transport stream muxer driver. He also actively worked in the fast channel change (FCC) algorithm and porting of low power code to ARM M4 from XP70 CPU. Udit has managed a team while still being hands-on. Udit holds an MS in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a B. Tech in Electronics from Kamla Nehru Inst of Technology Sultanpur.
