Udit Pahwa is a Lead Analyst at ANZ with a strong background in economics and mathematics. He is a recent graduate from IIT Kharagpur, where he pursued a master's degree in economics. Udit has a minor in Mathematics & Computing and is experienced in solving business and finance problems with data analytics and machine learning. Currently, Udit is working at ANZ as a Lead Analyst, where he is responsible for developing credit risk models using statistical modelling and machine learning techniques. He has a good understanding of credit risk and has worked on various projects related to credit risk assessment. Udit has also worked as a Modelling Analyst at ANZ, where he enhanced ANZ’s Credit Scorecard Segmentation process by implementing a completely user-driven decision tree algorithm in R. He developed functionalities giving total control to the users over tree growth and the split at every node. Udit also conceptualized a new tree list data structure making it possible to integrate all the user-defined splits into the decision tree algorithm. He created a new plot function for the custom tree list data structure which gave several visualization options for the tree generated. Prior to ANZ, Udit worked as a Data Analyst at the Indian School of Business. There he worked on two projects, where he forecasted the firm’s earnings per share by using macro-economic factors and firm fundamentals, compared the model's predictions to that of the analyst's. He also developed machine learning algorithms to assess the credit risk of borrowers in a group loan structure in India. Udit has a strong technical background in Machine Learning, SQL, and Python. He is a quick learner and has a passion for data analytics and machine learning. Udit has completed his education from IIT Kharagpur and St. Aloysous Senior Secondary School. He has relevant experience of 1.87 years.
