Ujjawal Chugh is an Associate Staff Engineer at Samsung R&D in Bangalore, India. With over 4 years of relevant experience, he is a skilled software engineer and research scientist with a focus on AI and optimization problems. Currently, he is part of the advanced research group at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) and is working on a research project related to compiler optimizations using state-of-the-art AI techniques including supervised and reinforcement learning. Ujjawal has a strong academic background, having completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology in 2019. He also holds a Class XII degree in Non-medical Science with Computers from Delhi Public School. During his time at Samsung, Ujjawal has developed a novel approach to accelerate the execution of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models on edge devices using reinforcement learning. His work has been published in ISCAS, 2021. He has also worked on a research project to accelerate LSTMs by autotuning for various compiler optimizations using Bayesian optimizations, which also got published in ISCAS, 2021. In addition, Ujjawal has experience in implementing and debugging a handwritten text recognition model based on connectionist temporal classification (CTC) technique. He has also conducted extensive data analysis on compiler logs using various Python libraries and frameworks. Overall, Ujjawal is a highly skilled and motivated professional with expertise in software engineering, research, reinforcement learning, AI, mobile development, CNN, Python, and neural networks. He is passionate about solving complex optimization problems and is always looking for new challenges to help him grow and develop his skills further.
