Uma Sankar Nayak is a product designer based in Bengaluru who specializes in user experience, visual, and interaction design. He strongly believes that equitable access to information and technology can create a more inclusive world. With over 5 years of relevant experience, Uma has worked with top companies such as BYJU'S, Osmo, and Quikr. Currently, Uma is working as a UX Designer for Osmo at BYJU'S, where he is building an intuitive video-conferencing solution for kids and teachers called Osmo Live. This solution uses augmented reality and computer vision (AI) to make the learning process fun and seamless. At Osmo, Uma is responsible for creating an intuitive user interface that enhances the overall user experience. In the past, Uma has worked as a User Experience Designer for Osmo and as a UI/UX Designer for Quikr. At Quikr, he was responsible for enhancing the core user experience across the iOS and Android platforms. He also led a team to build a new Modular Design System for maintaining consistency and faster implementation of new design patterns across web & mobile. Uma created interactive prototypes, oversaw production specs & facilitated design reviews with stakeholders across all the verticals for the mobile apps. He collaborated closely with product managers, developers, researchers & the marketing team. Previously, he had worked as the Lead Designer for the Quikr iOS app redesign. He also contributed to various other projects including LaundryAnna Redesign, Qcash Implementation, Cross-Category recommendation system and QuikrCars Test drive flow. Uma holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang (Parjang), Dhenkanal, Orissa. He also has an Intermediate in Science degree from Kendriya Vidyalaya. Uma's tech stack includes designer, Computer Vision, AI, test, product designer, iOS, Mobile, Recommendation system, ui, P2P, Android, and Web.
