Uma Sivakumar is a skilled software engineer with a passion for solving challenging problems in building products. With a background in Information Technology and Computer Science, she is experienced in algorithms, data structures, C, C++, Java, and SQL, with exposure to Kafka, Spark, and HBase. Uma is also interested in data science and has a background in probability and statistics. Currently, Uma works as a Software Engineer at Cerner Corporation, where she is responsible for the front-end and back-end development of the scheduling module of the Millennium product. The Millennium solution is designed for hospitals delivering behavioral health services, as well as independent behavioral health providers. Prior to her current position, Uma worked as a Software Intern at Cerner, where she worked on a near real-time streaming solution using technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Apache HBase. She also worked on CCL (Cerner Command Language), Cerner's proprietary language, to develop the transaction count system that queries the Cerner Millennium database to get the records of patients and create a report of their medical details using record structures and dummy T tables. Uma has also worked as a Program Intern at GyanMatrix, where she gained experience in software engineering and development. Uma holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from SRM University and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis. She attended Delhi Public School, Bangalore East, and Greenwood High School for her secondary education. Uma's tech stack includes software engineering, Spark, Kafka, SQL, Java, data science, front-end, and back-end development.
