UmaShankar Samdwar is an experienced software engineer with over 9 years of experience in web and backend-based applications development using Java/J2EE and Spring Boot technologies. He has a strong command over Java, J2EE, RESTful Web Services Data Structure, and Algorithms. UmaShankar has hands-on experience in Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, AWS, Amazon S3, Amazon SQS, Spring Boot, Elasticsearch, and Drools. He is known for his ability to work independently and in any type of environment, possessing strong practical knowledge and programming logics. UmaShankar has strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with a flexible and detail-oriented attitude. UmaShankar is currently the Director of Engineering at Onsurity, where he is building wellness and fitness services. Previously, he worked at Paytm, where he served as a Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer. At Paytm, UmaShankar designed and implemented integration of Paytm Payment Gateway, developed a mandate solution for automatic payments, and designed and developed a rule engine for payment gateway selection. He also led a team of five people for bank integration for investment payment via NEFT/RTGS transfer. UmaShankar actively reviewed and developed system design for various features for the payment module. He led a team of four people to implement an internal payment gateway for internal teams within Paytm Money that could be used across teams like Equity, Mutual Fund, Subscription, and Gold. UmaShankar has relevant experience in the mobile digital advertising domain and payments and payment gateway integration domain. He completed his Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, and his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in IT from Marwari College Ranchi.
