Umesh Singla is an accomplished software engineer with a passion for building large-scale software systems. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of California, San Diego, after completing his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIIT Hyderabad. With over two years of relevant experience, Umesh has honed his skills in big data, data engineering, and research science. He has previously worked as a Software & Data Engineer at Joveo and as a Software Engineering Intern at OpenDaylight. Currently, he serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UC San Diego's Computer Science and Engineering department, where he teaches courses such as Systems for Scalable Analytics, Computer Architecture, and Artificial Intelligence. Umesh's interests lie in modern architecture platforms, distributed systems, and tools for big data. He enjoys both the research and development phases of software development, which has allowed him to learn and thrive in a challenging environment. He is also interested in computational neuroscience and systems neuroscience, and in his free time, he enjoys reading about the latest developments in the field. He is particularly fascinated by patterns of neuronal activity in the brain and how neurons and neuronal populations engage to perform computations and give rise to intelligent behavior. Umesh's educational background and technical expertise make him an excellent candidate for roles in research science, senior software engineering, and data engineering. He is actively looking for full-time roles in 2023 and is eager to apply his skills and knowledge to build innovative software systems.
