Unnikuttan Vijayan Velamkudy is an experienced software engineer with over 7 years of experience in the medical device industry. He is skilled in Python, data analytics, project management, and embedded systems. Unnikuttan holds a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Hyderabad and a Bachelors in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from the College of Engineering Trivandrum(CET). Currently, Unnikuttan is working as a Technical Lead Engineer at diametos gmbh. Previously, he worked as a Staff Software Engineer at lifesignals group where he led a team of engineers to create strategies for data acquisition and organization of online and offline data from servers of different hospitals across the world. He also constructed automatic report generation by analyzing the biomarkers for a COVID-19 patient and generated the API to integrate into the Amazon server. Unnikuttan led a team of doctors and engineers to generate clinical trials reports by statistically analyzing the data of patients in Texas, USA, remotely from India. He worked with the sensor front end of the wireless ECG biosensors and examined various quality issues regarding electrical failure and fixing bugs in the sensor interface firmware of the system. Unnikuttan also implemented the hardware and calibration of temperature sensor and PPG sensor in the wearable biosensor and examined the feasibility of finding instantaneous blood pressure from blood flow by using signal processing and machine learning approaches. Unnikuttan also has experience working as an Assistant Professor at Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology where he taught and mentored Bachelor’s students in various subjects and projects including MATLAB and Embedded systems.
