Usman Mir is a Lead XR Developer and Lead Instructor at Circuit Stream, a Senior Software Engineer and Creative Director at Afoma, and the Founder & Managing Director at Slice O' Nice. With over 15 years of Unity3D and programming experience, Usman is an expert in XR development and an experienced instructor with great communication skills and excellent leadership abilities. Usman has delved and educated in the fields of robotics, software development, virtual and augmented reality, providing instruction to young and old alike for over 8 years. He has given one-on-one tutorials, small classes, lectures, and technical demos for large groups of clients. Usman is also a great public speaker, with engaging speeches given at several world-class events such as EWTS, AWE, VRLA, and VRARA. Currently, Usman works as a VP XR Research at JP Morgan, where he is working in the Future Lab of Applied Research and Engineering on XR Solutions. In the past, he has worked as an XR Software Engineer III - Researcher at Meta Reality Labs, where he developed prototypes in XR. At Circuit Stream, Usman is a lead in both the development and training departments. He works in teams of various sizes, developing mostly XR experiences, and provides training to aspiring developers and their teams. Usman also gives presentations and leads classes and workshops on XR development and the industry at multiple conferences, companies, and universities. Some of his past projects include Medical Training with AR at the University of Chicago, VR factory training for Koch Industries, and AR plane tour for Boeing. Usman holds a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from the University of Calgary, which he completed in 2016. He has relevant experience of 6.87 years and is proficient in Research Scientist, Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, and Android.
