Utpal Kant is a highly experienced Software Engineer at Broadcom Inc. with over 11 years of relevant experience in the industry. He has a strong background in the development of network routers and switches, specifically in the areas of TM/SFM software development and performance tuning. Currently, Utpal is working at Broadcom as a Software Engineer where he is responsible for the development of software for the company's Dune family chipsets, including Jericho, Qumran-MX, and FE3200. He is also involved in the implementation of QoS features such as WRED, Weighted Scheduling, Priority Shaping, and Flow Control (LLFC/PFC). Prior to his current role, Utpal worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Brocade where he was responsible for the development of TM/SFM software for Brocade SLX Routers. He also worked as a Software Engineer 3 at Brocade where he was responsible for performance tuning in TM/SFM for Brocade MLX Routers and the implementation of Ingress Multicast Replication and PoC for Deep-buffering support. Utpal holds a Master of Technology (MTech) degree in Visual Information & Embedded Systems from IIT Kharagpur, where he also completed his Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering. He completed his Senior Secondary education in Science from Holy Mission High School in Bihar. In terms of technical skills, Utpal is proficient in software engineering and has a strong understanding of network protocols and hardware.
