Uttam Shukla is a Civil Engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, currently working as a Data Analyst Intern at Siemens. He is an active member of the Board of Sports Activities and Board of Recreational Activities at IITD. Uttam has a diverse work experience, having previously worked as a Project Intern at Siemens and as a Hostel Mess Secretary at IITD. At Siemens, Uttam is responsible for using condition-based maintenance to determine failure conditions for turbine engine units. He has performed statistical analysis and correlation mining to prepare mass engine sensor data for analysis, used box plot and time series decomposition to filter sensor data, regression techniques to isolate variables, and established failure modes for engine units by predicting correlation between engine lifespans to particular sensor behavior. Using Team Center, he has compiled and collated all the relevant data in order to present suitable reports for new projects of the company. During his internship at Siemens, Uttam worked with a global team of experts to evaluate the soundness assessment of the Siemens building to assess the extent of deterioration, if any, due to age effect, change in loading, etc. He drafted a plan for implementation and contributed significantly to the development of a safe environment for Siemens's employees to work. He designed a waterproofing system for chillers and rooftop, which increased the stability of the Siemens building. He received an "excellent overall performance certificate" for commendable work ethics and team skills. As the Hostel Mess Secretary at IITD, Uttam was elected unanimously by 300+ residents to lead a 15-member team to solve mess problems and handle the budget wisely. He pioneered the Pay Per meal system and Transparency, aimed at reducing mess fees for hostel residents by 15%. He improved the quality of food and introduced non-veg, which was appreciated by all the residents of the Vindhyachal. He increased participation in the Mess Working Committee and incorporated an online system for mess-related issues. Uttam has a strong technical background, with expertise in SQL, AWS, Python, ML, and Apache Hive. He has 4.86 years of relevant experience.
