Vaibhav Reddy Kalakota is a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer with 4 years of experience in designing microservices for scale and high availability. He has a thesis degree and expertise in Machine Learning and Information Retrieval. Currently working as a Java Developer Intern at Tangoe, he has created a User Interface that performs search operations using Lucene, Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. He has also worked on Apache Lucene and built a search tool for Tangoe Help Component, where the ranking algorithm takes in TF, DF, and TF-IDF. He was the only intern out of 5 to be offered a full-time role. In his previous role as an Associate Software Engineer at Dell, Vaibhav worked on ETL optimization for EMC Greenplum using Java, Kafka, Spark, and Zookeeper. He built a POC prototype that addressed the bottleneck in designing warehouses that are scalable and have low latency. He also developed a web application for Saudi Arabian government - ADAA International Performance Hub, designed to track key performance indicators like Education, Health, etc. He built dashboards for KPIs using D3, React (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), Java, Spring MVC, and SQL. Vaibhav also developed a Shift Allowance Management Tool to aid logging shifts of 5,000 employees across EMC India as a part of the shift from the initial legacy tool. He created the web application tool using AngularJS 1.5 (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery), Java/Spring MVC, and SQL. As a Software Engineer at Dell, Vaibhav worked on Smart Metric - a smart building IoT that used live streaming electricity and gas consumption data from a set of buildings (NYC) and got valuable insights using dashboards. He ingested data from building sensors (Producers) into the Kafka cluster and processed streaming data with Lambda Architecture (Spark, Kafka, etc.). He also built dashboards (using D3) that showed heat map across city, locality, building, and device level. Vaibhav successfully demoed the POC to the UAE government authority and got the Dubai Smart City project for EMC Consulting (team of 4). Vaibhav has a Master's degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
