Vaibhav Goel is a highly experienced professional in data analysis and performance engineering, with over 11 years of relevant experience. He is currently working as a Senior II Performance Engineer at Akamai Technologies, where he is responsible for improving the quality of service for top media customers. He analyzes customer traffic (server-side and client-side logs) and optimizes the configuration and platform settings to ensure optimal performance. He also provides consulting to customers regarding best practices specific to their traffic. Vaibhav has experience in several domains, including internet technologies (CDN), financial services (technology, internal audit, risk, and control). He has worked as a data scientist and senior performance engineer at Akamai, where he was responsible for developing analytics tools for continuous monitoring of key controls. He also aided auditors in identifying the right sample for testing or doing a 100% population testing (wherever possible). He has worked on several key products and initiatives, including trades data analytics, data quality solutions in R, and automation of testing for ITGC (Information Technology General Controls). Vaibhav has a Master's degree in Computational Science from the Indian Institute of Science and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the College of Technology, GBPUA&T. He has a diverse tech stack that includes product management, data science, research science, test, and SQL. In his current role, he prepares for platform readiness for events and new VoD/OTT launches of the order of tens of Tbps traffic. He also onboard customers to the PoC products, measures performance impact, identifies any gaps, and uses this experience to improve these PoC products by collaborating with product management. Vaibhav collaborates with capacity planning in optimizing the deployments and improving the services that run on the platform to improve performance as well as reduce COGS (operating costs for the platform). He shares the best practices with the services and support organization, which further enhances the quality of service provided to customers.
